Manuscript Summary
Peter Bonn von Worms, parish priest of Rast, produced this astronomical-computistic Astronomisch-komputistische composite manuscript between ca. 1467 and March 1486. It contains instructions for calculating calender dates, movable feasts, Sun and Moon cycles, astrological tables, blood-letting treatises, as well as a Jewish computus. It contains numerous schematic diagrams (some produced with a compass), computistic tables and calender annotations, sometimes highlighted in red. The manuscript offers glimpses into medical-astrological popular practices and contains Bonn’s autograph account of the solar eclipse of 16 March 1485.
