Manuscript Summary
According to the 1957 note by Victor Erard, teacher of History and Latin at the Ecole cantonale de Porrentruy (p. 1), this paper manuscript is a copy of L’abrégé de l’histoire des évêques de Bâle by François Hubert Voisard (1749-1818). Compared to the copy dated 1781 (MP 10 / A3269), which is made according to a system of question and response, the text of this manuscript disposes with the questions and just transcribes the responses. It is copied with care in a single column in an ink-traced frame. Moreover, each bishop is introduced by his coat of arms drawn with a feather, cut out, numbered (from 1 to 73, from Pantalus to Johann Conrad de Roggenbach), and pasted to the page. The manuscript breaks off in the middle of a sentence, with the end being lost.
