Manuscript Summary
This manuscript, consisting of several paper quires, chiefly contains a list in French of the bishops of Basel (pp. 7-15), from Saint Pantale (fifth century) to Joseph Antoine Salzman (1829-1854). It is followed by a second list, in Latin, of the bishops of Basel, as well as of provosts, deans, and canons of the cathedral between 1502 and 1771 (pp. 23-45). Completing this list is an index of the names of the members of the cathedral chapter of Basel (pp. 45-55). Finally, the manuscript has a copy of the Catalogue des ornements, reliques, images et revenus de Saint-Vincent de Berne (pp. 62-71). Widely circulated in the seventeenth century, this French-language inventory of the treasury also exists in English (Bern, Burgerbibliothek, Mss.Mül.594 (68)) and in Latin (edited, for example, in Jacobus Schueler, Hercules catholicus, Fribourg, 1651).
