Remigius Faesch : Iter Italicum
Tandis qu'au cours du Moyen Age, les voyages en Italie, nommés « Itinera Italica », avaient avant tout des objectifs religieux (pèlerinages) ou professionnels (voyages commerciaux), après la Réforme on commença - aussi à Bâle - à entreprendre toujours plus de voyages de formation, motivés par l'intérêt pour l'Italie elle-même et ses curiosités. Il en advint de nombreux récits de voyage, comme celui du juriste et recteur de l'Université de Bâle, Remigius Faesch (1595-166) datant de 1621.
