Manuscript Summary: | Manuscript Summary This manuscript has the form of a parchment scroll; it consists of six narrow strips of parchment, each about 60-80 cm long, sewn together lengthwise. It is a pilgrims’ guide through the city of Rome und consists of two texts: mostly in the form of a list, the Mirabilia Romae describe the structures of the city of Rome – walls, temples, palaces, squares, thermal baths, theaters, etc. In this version, this part begins with a short historical introduction from the Chronicle of Martin of Opava. It is followed by the Indulgentiae ecclesiarum urbis Romae as a second part, an enumeration of the churches of Rome with their relics and the indulgences to be obtained there. |
