| Manuscript Summary: | Manuscript Summary The Wandalgarius manuscript containing copies of the so-called Lex Romana Visigothorum, the Lex Salica and the Lex Alamannorum. This important legal manuscript, was written in Lyon in 793 and was decorated by the cleric Wandalgarius with numerous colored initials and a miniature of a crowned lawgiver. This is the oldest precisely dated manuscript in the Abbey Library of St. Gall. |
