Descrizione breve:Copia importante da un punto di vista storico-testuale dell’"Alexandreis" di Gaultiero di Châtillon, prodotta nel XIV secolo nel monastero di San Gallo. L’opera del teologo francese Gaultiero di Châtillon (1135-1201), lunga e molto letta, narra la biografia di Alessandro Magno in esametri latini. Il manoscritto fu poi utilizzato dal monaco sangallese Athanasio Gugger (1608-1669) come base per la sua edizione, intitolata «Gualterus de Castellione Phil. Alexandris sive gesta Alexandri Magni libris X comprehens ex veteribus manuscriptis bibliothecarum S. Galli», stampata nel 1659 nella tipografia del monastero di San Gallo.(smu)
